Commercial transparency
Advertising & Sponsorship Policy
TalentAid can be free to users and still be commercially sustainable—but only if advertising stays visibly separate from the career facts people rely on. This policy defines that firewall.

We explain what TalentAid does, what it does not do, and where you should verify an important decision with an official source.
Advertisers cannot buy changes to wages, licensing requirements, Career Signals or pathway rankings.
Display advertising is kept out of the Career GPS questionnaire.
Optional advertising technology remains off unless the visitor allows advertising.
Why TalentAid may carry advertising
Verifying career pathways across Canada requires ongoing work: regulators change, labour-market data refreshes, apprenticeship systems evolve and programs open or close. Advertising, sponsorship and referral revenue can help fund that work while keeping core career exploration available without a subscription.
Editorial firewall
- Advertisers cannot purchase a higher Career Signal or preferred career ranking.
- Advertisers cannot alter verified wage, outlook, regulator, licensing, certification or apprenticeship information.
- Commercial partners cannot suppress a better-fitting pathway or program solely because it is not sponsored.
- Editorial corrections and verification decisions are made independently of commercial relationships.
Labels and placement
Display units are labelled “Advertisement.” Paid placements or promotions are labelled “Sponsored” or otherwise clearly identified as commercial. TalentAid does not intentionally format an ad to look like an independent licensing requirement, regulator notice or pathway step.
Ads are placed around substantive content rather than inside the Career GPS questionnaire. We prioritize readability, mobile usability and decision quality over maximizing impressions.
Privacy and advertising technology
Optional advertising technology is consent-gated in the current product. Visitors can continue using core TalentAid features with optional advertising technology disabled.
See the Privacy Policy for details about browser storage, service providers and personal information.
Sensitive topics and health-career context
TalentAid includes healthcare careers, but career browsing should not be used to infer that a visitor has a health condition. TalentAid's own advertising standards do not permit sponsors to influence career guidance based on medical records or diagnoses, and users are instructed not to provide sensitive health information to Career Advisor.
Students and younger users
Career exploration is often used by students. Advertising should be understandable as advertising, should not pressure users to disclose unnecessary personal information, and should not exploit the authority of TalentAid's verified career content. Commercial messaging must remain distinct from required education or licensing steps.
Education and training sponsors
An institution or training provider may sponsor visibility, a content placement or a referral opportunity. Sponsorship does not mean TalentAid has verified every claim in the sponsor's promotional creative. Official program eligibility, admission and professional recognition should still be confirmed with the institution and applicable regulator.
Affiliate and referral revenue
Some links may generate a referral fee or lead payment. That commercial relationship must not change the underlying career or pathway recommendation. Additional details appear in the Affiliate Disclosure.
